What My Clients Say

Megan Vickers

Megan Vickers

Her care during postpartum helped my healing process and sanity so much. She helped support our breastfeeding journey and even showed up to the hospital with my favorite coffee.

Nadja Milekic

Denise was invaluable as a postpartum doula - as first-time parents with no family in the area, she was a lifesaver during a very stressful and intense time. She is a delightful person that you will be glad to have welcomed into your home.

Frequently asked

The questions I hear most.

What does a postpartum doula actually do?
I support your whole family while giving you time to rest and heal. That includes infant care instruction (diapering, swaddling, soothing), feeding support (breastfeeding, pumping, bottle), gentle sleep coaching, meal prep focused on postpartum healing, and keeping the house running so you can actually rest. The point is real support — not a checklist.
Do you do overnight shifts?
No — I offer daytime postpartum support only. If you need overnight care, reach out anyway; I’ll connect you with excellent Night Doulas in your area.
Is sleep coaching included?
Yes. Gentle sleep coaching is part of every postpartum package I offer — we’ll help your baby (and your family) find a rhythm that works as we go.
Can you help with older siblings or pets?
Yes. I’m trained in Dog & Baby Safety, and I actively support siblings through the newborn transition — keeping them engaged, helping with the age-gap shift, and making sure the whole family feels held, not just the baby.
What’s the difference between a postpartum doula and a baby nurse?
A baby nurse is usually focused on the baby — feeding schedules, sleep, overnight care. A postpartum doula is focused on the whole family. I support YOU (physical recovery, emotional processing, feeding questions, meal prep, household flow) AND the baby. It’s a more holistic approach to the fourth trimester.
When should I book a postpartum doula?
Ideally during pregnancy — most families book in the second or third trimester. But I’ve also started with families in the first few weeks postpartum when they realized they needed more support. It’s never too late to reach out.
Can I adjust hours or shift patterns once we’ve started?
Often, yes. Every family’s needs shift in the early weeks. We build a schedule at the start, then revisit as we go — more hours during a growth spurt, fewer when things settle. Talk to me about what you need.
