CAPPA Certified

Hi! I’m Denise Curtis. I’m a CAPPA Certified Labor & Postpartum Doula, Childbirth Educator, and HypnoBirthing® Certified Educator in the Los Angeles area. I’ve helped thousands of families just like yours learn what to expect and how to face birth with confidence and readiness.

In a private class, every minute is about YOU. I tailor the curriculum to your specific questions, your birth preferences, and your comfort level. Whether you’re planning a hospital birth, birth center, or home birth — medicated or unmedicated — I’ll make sure you feel fully prepared.

“I want an unmedicated birth but have no clue how to achieve that.”

“I don’t know what my rights are and I don’t want the providers doing things that I may not need or be okay with.”

The birth space is sacred and you should have full control over what that space looks and feels like at all times. Let’s get together and get you fully prepared.

What My Clients Say

Paulina

My husband and I also ended up taking her in person childbirth class and highly recommend that as well! 10/10 all around. There was never a topic or issue I had that she wasn't able to assist with.

We took her classes privately. They were clear, organized, and provided us with confidence. Denise was able to answer all our questions and provide us with resources. We find ourselves referring back to the printed packets she gave us.

Ashley Coakley

Denise came to our home to do in birth classes, came to our home to put together our birth plan with us, came to our home before birth for baby care basics classes. Denise was everything and more in what I wanted and she made me feel confident and supported.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the class?

This is an 8-hour private class, split into two 4-hour sessions scheduled at your convenience.

Is this class in-person or virtual?

Both! You can choose in-person (at your home in the Los Angeles area) or virtual via Zoom — whichever is most comfortable for you.

Can I bring my birth partner?

Absolutely! It’s best to bring whomever you plan to have as your main support person at your birth. That can be your spouse, significant other, friend, parent, or birth partner.

When is the ideal time to take this class?

The ideal time is toward the end of your 2nd trimester, but this class is open to individuals at any stage of pregnancy. Some take it in the first trimester to ease anxiety, while others prefer the third trimester so the information is fresh.

How much does the class cost?

This private childbirth education class is $799 per couple. Payment plans are available — contact me to inquire.

Do you take insurance?

I do not take insurance directly. However, most insurance plans cover part or all of a childbirth education class expense. Check with your insurance company or employer. Classes are also eligible for reimbursement with an HSA/FSA/HRA account. Check if your employer has Carrot Fertility — they cover childbirth education. A detailed superbill and class outline can be provided for insurance reimbursement upon request.

My 100% No-Questions-Asked, Hassle-Free, Money Back Guarantee

My guarantee to you is that this class, when implemented, will make a difference in your birth experience. I know when you try what I will teach you, you’ll see amazing results!

Come to my class, practice what I will teach you, if you’re not overwhelmed with knowledge, if in fact you don’t feel fully prepared for childbirth, know in an instant which labor position and comfort measure to use no matter where you are in labor, then I refuse to keep your money.

Email me at denise@denisetheladoula.com and I will immediately refund 100% of your money back to you with no questions asked. You can even keep any handouts and resources given to you during class! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
