Welcome. These terms govern your use of denisetheladoula.com and any services, classes, or digital products I offer as Denise Curtis, doing business as Denise Curtis Doula Services(“I,” “me,” “my”). By using the site or booking with me, you’re agreeing to what’s below.

Accounts & eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or book services.
• Please give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Keep your password private — you’re responsible for activity on your account.
• One account per person. Don’t share access to paid content.

My services

I offer labor and postpartum doula support, group and private childbirth and parenting classes, HypnoBirthing®, lactation and feeding education, sleep coaching, and digital resources (birth plan tools, guides, self-paced courses). Specific terms of any doula contract (visits, fees, backup coverage) are spelled out in the signed client contract, which controls if it conflicts with anything here.

Booking & payment

Payments are processed securely by a third-party payment processor. Specific fees, schedules, and any custom arrangements are documented in your client contract or class registration confirmation.

Refund policy

Refund terms depend on what you’ve purchased. Here’s what applies to each:

Labor & postpartum doula packages

Doula packages are non-refundable. When you book me, I reserve that window of my on-call availability for you and turn other families away — that time can’t be resold. The one exception is pregnancy loss: in the event of a miscarriage, I’ll work with you on a refund or credit that fits the situation.

Group & private classes (non-HypnoBirthing)

Refunds for group or private classes are considered on a case-by-case basisfor special circumstances. Email me as early as you can and I’ll do my best to work something out.

HypnoBirthing® classes

HypnoBirthing classes are non-refundable once registered.

Self-paced online courses

Self-paced online courses come with a 100% money-back guarantee. If you’re not satisfied, email me and I’ll issue a full refund.

Other digital products

All other digital products (guides, downloads, resources) are non-refundable due to the nature of digital delivery.

How to request a refund

Email [email protected] with your order number (it’s on your confirmation email) and a short note about what you’d like refunded. I’ll reply within a few business days. If you have a concern about a charge, please reach out before filing a chargeback — I can almost always sort it out faster than a bank dispute.

Intellectual property

All content on this site — writing, photos, course videos, PDFs, class materials — is my property (or used with permission). If you purchase a course or guide, you get a personal, non-transferable license to use it yourself. Please don’t copy, re-upload, resell, or share paid content with others.

Acceptable use

• Don’t scrape, reverse-engineer, or harvest information from the site.
• Don’t upload or submit anything unlawful, harassing, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
• Don’t share login credentials or paid-content access with people who haven’t purchased it.

Third-party links & services

The site may link to or integrate with third-party services. I’m not responsible for their content, policies, or how they handle your data — please review their terms directly when you use them.

Disclaimers

The site and my content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. Every pregnancy, birth, and baby is different — outcomes can’t be guaranteed, and nothing here is a promise of a specific result.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I won’t be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the site, my classes, or my digital products. My total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid me in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold me harmless from any third-party claims arising from your misuse of the site, breach of these terms, or violation of someone else’s rights.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

Changes to these terms

I may update these terms from time to time. When I do, I’ll change the effective date at the top. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.
